Bathroom Remodel

     We are humbled by the opportunity to remodel this amazing guest bathroom in Historic Downtown Summerville. The original bathroom was showing its age, presenting issues that included cramped spaces, outdated tile materials and fixtures, and more significantly, wood rot to the substructure that required immediate attention. The space was well past its prime, but now sports a fresh new look and a classic, timeless design. 

     We tackled an important part of a shower remodel that’s often unseen. During the demo process, we discovered some rotten subfloor and framing behind the old tile and three inches of concrete. Replacement is a crucial step for ensuring a safe and long-lasting shower. Our crew was hard at work removing the concrete and damaged wood, replacing it with new, strong framing and subfloor. Next, drywall was installed to replace the old wall tile and provide a flat surface for the walls. This groundwork is essential to prevent future problems and will ensure the new bathroom is built to last. 

     Next, our team installed and waterproofed the shower, and successfully flood tested it to fully prepare for its beautiful new tile. The shower is now highlighted by its classic white horizontal subway tile in the shower. This backdrop is perfectly complemented by the Metro Octagon floor tile (white with black square dots) in both the shower pan and the bathroom floor. Finally, glossy black vertical subway tile was installed in the niche, providing a sharp, dramatic detail that truly amplifies the entire bathroom design.

     Finishing touches include- all new shower fixtures, a new pedestal sink and faucet, new mirror, new grab bars, and new light fixtures. We added some texture and dimension using beadboard paneling and the walls got a fresh coat of ‘Lyndhurst Celadon Green’ paint to match the adjoining guest bedroom. This space feels refreshed and looks captivating!

     We are so thankful for our clients and loved completing this project! The dramatic before and after transformation is beautiful and we loved watching it all unfold.
